Hi Tuttle

The way you described the "invisible" text varying makes me feel it is
definitely video card-related. I think it would be worth trying turning
down the hardware acceleration of the video card a notch or two, one at
a time, to see if that makes a difference. It can turn out to be the
answer to some weird display problems.
