I don't think this is a video card issue. If it were a video card or display
adapter/drivers issue, I think there would be more widespread display
problems. As I described, in some circumstances typing a question mark
causes text to go invisible, while deleting the question mark enables the
text to be visible again. That sounds like something quite specific, not a
general display problem.
