Try this
Get the carriage to the ink tank replacement position.
Pull the power plug from the printer (don't power off first).
Remove the two ink tanks.
Remove the printhead (cartridge) using the lever at one side of the cartridge.
Don't touch the nozzles at the bottom of the cartridge.
Clean the contacts at the back of the cartridge with a very slightly damp
cloth. Do the same for the contacts in the printer that mate with the ones on
the cartridge.
Make sure the contacts are dry and replace the cartridge and ink tanks.
Apply power to the printer.
If that doesn't fix the problem then I'm afraid it is a main board failure
which is not cost effective to replace. It could also be the cartridge has
failed but that will cost just as much to repair as a new printer and the risk
is that you still have a main board failure.
