Hi Larry. Unfortunately, the solution shown below will not address the
original question. As Francesco mentioned, the USB Boot components are
meant specifically to enable the system to boot from a USB device, and part
of this solution is to cause XPe to treat USB flash drives as non-removable
devices (normally they are always seen as removable, and thus are treated
differently from non-removable media). This doesn't have any impact on the
"Safely Remove Hardware" functionality, however.

There is a component named "Safely Remove Hardware Program", which should
bring in the necessary components to add the requested functionality to your
runtime.
