If you can reload the system and maybe all you have to do is replace the
HD some day, you can keep that old PC running for a long time.
And when that PC go you'll probably want a better machine and that
better machine hardware may not run XP, lack of drivers, so you'll be
forced to Vista.
But only you know how much weight you put on your hatred for Vista and
love for XP. We can only speculate.
I will adopt Vista but only when I have to. For now this old XP is
working.
