Please initiate a manual visit to Microsoft Update either from the link
on the Start Menu or from within Internet Explorer.
When the error comes up again, close the browser.
Open the WindowsUpdate.log by going to Start > Run > type in
%windir%\windowsupdate.log
Click OK or press Enter
Scroll all the way to the bottom for the most recent entries
Copy and paste the last 50 or so lines into your reply, please.
