Did you attempt a rebuild of the winsock stack to see if that resolved
the issue ?
Start > Run > type in
cmd
Click OK or press Enter
At the Command Prompt, type in the below and press Enter after *each*
command
netsh winsock reset
exit
Restart the system and see if connectivity is restored.
If no joy, why not call in so that MS can get to the bottom of this issue ?
Just ignoring it doesn't mean that others will not have to suffer the
same fate as you did.
