Compile error in XP

Every time I use my Windows - or Office - I get an error message saying:
Microsoft Visual Basic
Compile error in hidden module: Auto Exe3C

When I look for help it says it is about a protected project... I have no
idea whjat that is - or how to un-protect it...
Would eb most gratefull for help!
