Home Networking
I have a Windows XP Pro and Windows XP home and I would like share a printer
from XP Pro PC. I have tried to setup a network, but neither computer sees
each other. I have turned off the FireWall on both PC but still nothing. I
am using LinkSys WRT160N as the router.

I have gone through the following insturctions:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u...p/homenet.mspx

What else can I check?

Thank You

Peter

RE: Home Networking
I dont believe a router will make the connection between the 2
pcs,specifically
only a pc "crossover cable" will work. The cable looks like a ethernet cable
but
it's not.

Re: Home Networking
I have one system working where one computer is on domain and one is not,
but both of them are XP Pro and both connected through a router and I can
browse each other's files. Now I am trying to setup another system, but one
of the computers is XP Home so I don't know if that's the problem, but you
don't have to have cross over cable, the router will work.
