Keyboard/Mouse no response after XP reinstall
I have a dual boot image (Linux/XP SP2). After creating the original
image on a Dell T3400, copying the image to a third party software, I
copied the hard drive image and re-installed the windows partition
with the correct licensed version (using the XP cd that came with he
brand new systrem), the keyboard and mouse has no response after the
reboot after drivers were installed. Since XP is set to login
automaticly, the OS logs in and you can see the mouse pointer but the
mouse and keyboard do not work. The mouse and keyboard are USB from
Dell. Linux sees the hardware with no issues, so the BIOS is setup
correctly. I have installed on these machines through the third
party software before with no issues.

RE: Keyboard/Mouse no response after XP reinstall
Try tapping the F8 key on start-up,select safe mode, enter xp as
administrator,
if all works ok,create a new user account, exit xp,restart in new,if all is
ok,the
old account may be corrupted, delete it.
