A novice old man

Problem loading new applications

I get error message "insufficient space on destination drive" despite having
>300 Gb of free space. File system NTFS.
XP sp 2. Processor x86 Family 15 Model 2 Stepping 9 GenuineIntel ~3192 Mhz.

Need help to allow me to install / reinstall software.
