Boot up problem

Hi all
I am running xp pro sp2 ver 2002 and now after my son downloaded (partially)
a web sit builder from ......., the system froze. He turned computer off then
back on and this is where it allll began,,, would not boot beyond the first
screen ( Intel screen\picture). I can only boot in safe mode,, using f8. I
have checked various sites and me, not very literate with computer jargon,
require from a greater knowledge source a plan of attack?
