my function key seems to be stuck.
light blue characters on keys are entered as primary character when the key
is depressed.
is there a shortcut to reset this?
s4**er ann6y5ng!
(super annoying!)

You mean your alphabet keys are working is numerical keys. Is this is
Notebook/Laptop computer? Seems to be Numlock has been turned on. There are
different key combinations on each laptop to turn this feature on or off.

Check your Laptop manual or Google for the same. Try Fn+Num Lock key.
