No Sound

I am running XP SP3, I have an AsRock MB with on board sound (Realtek AC97).
My problem is I have no Win sounds, no sound from IE except thru Media
Player. Media Player (11) works great. I have tried drivers, trouble shooters
etc.

Any help would be greatly appeciated.

i know your problem. All of my messenger programs, the only one that has
sound is msn. Nothing on yahoo or anything else. did anyone ever help you
trouble shoot this? I would really love to be able to enjoy sound on
something like youtube. Thanks
