XP Update
It appears that during disk maintence I may have moved some XP update
pointer. Current updates cannot be installed by Automatic Updates. Accessing
Windows XP Update page I am notified that I have to download and install a
new Windows Update check program which fails. It informs me to check my
update history, this shows that all update prior to the last 10 have not been
installed. Prior to the maintenance I had downloaded and generated an SP3
disc. Using this it seems that my PC is upto date. BUT the current Automatic
updates and New Window Update check program still fails.

Re: XP Update
Ignore the title of the KB article - Updates are not installed successfully from Windows
Update, from Microsoft Update, or by using Automatic Updates after you repair a Windows XP
