Quick Launch
The Help & Support Center advises to add icons to quick launch by draging
them from "My Computer" or "Windows Explorer". Unfortunately, I couldn't find
the IE "Blue E" or the OE "Envelope" anywhere in those two locations. They're
in the Start Menu, but they won't drag and drop from there (there's a black
circle with a slash through it over the icon when this is attempted). The
answer is probably easy, but I'm stumped. Thanks for any help.

Use the right button of your mouse when you drag-n-drop them as this will allow you to copy them vs. moving them.

The black circle w/the slash means you're trying to place them on top of an existing icon. Try placing the pointer between the existing icons and it should allow you to copy them.
