Cab't install Programs
Hs anyone run into this one?

Whenever I try to install a program, I get about 2/3 of the way thru
the installation, and then it stops and I get a message box that says:
"Error 1500; Another installation is in progress. You must complete
that installaation before continuing this one."

I've looked at everything in my Startup folder, run AV software, and
I've tried installing immediately after bootup, I'e also reinstalled
Windows Installer.

Windows Task Mgr. says that nothing else is running.

Any thoughts?

Re: Cab't install Programs
You could try reinstalling Windows Installer. The newest version is 3.1

If it's still saying that after a restart, start up Task Manager (Shift +
Ctrl + Esc), go to the Processes tab and click on the header of the first
column, Image Name, to sort it
alphabetically.
Look for a process called "msiexec.exe". Click on it once to select it, then
click on End Process at the bottom right.
Confirm in the pop-up that you *do* want to terminate the process.
Then try installing again.

ldygdiva, if you've come up from a complete fresh restart of the machine,
kill them both and try.
