Drive Letter Change
Somehow, without my permission <gr> something has changed the letter
of my 2nd CD/R disk from G to H. There is no longer a G drive. My
first CD drive is F.

Is there a way to get my H drive changed to G?

Control Panel|Administrative tools|Computer Management|Disk Management
Pick the drive and right-click and change drive letter.

Re: Drive Letter Change
Right click on My Computer, select Manage, then under the Storage option
select Disk Management.

Now in the right hand pane right click on the CD Drive that you want to
and select Change Drive Letter and Paths.
Then click the Change button and pick a letter from the pull down list.

Re: Drive Letter Change
Dick

Others have told you how to change the drive letter. I suggest it might
be helpful for you to find out what caused it to occur as it is likely
to happen again. The usual reason is the addition or removal of an
external or flash drive. Another situation where this can arise is on a
dual or multi-booting system where the operating systems can conflict
over which is to take the drive letter C.

The problems caused by drive letter changes are where the files and
registry entries at one location refer to an entry or file at a location
where the drive letter has changed. You can find all kinds of
consequences which can be time consuming to unravel.

Hope this helps.
