New Hardware Found
Every time I start my PC, I get the New Hardware found message saying that
it has found a Printer (no details, just Printer), I only have one printer
which is shown in the Hardware list and is working fine, but to try and
eliminate things. I have actually removed EVERYTHING from all connectors
except LAN, mouse and keyboard but it still pops up with the 'Found New
Printer'. I have not added anything new to my PC for a long time.

I am running windows XP with SP3, but this started a couple of weeks ago
when I still had SP2.

I have a full Internet Security package through Virgin Media so don't
believe it to be virus related.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Keith

RE: New Hardware Found
Does this "Printer" device show up in Device Manager? If yes, what's the
Hardware Id (shown under the Details tab) associated with it?

Regards,
Darko

Drunk One day, a father and his little son were going home. At this age,
the boy was interested in all kinds of things and was always asking
questions. Now, he asked, "What's the meaning of the word 'Drunk',
dad?" "Well, my son," his father replied, "look, there are standing two
policemen. If I regard the two policemen as four then I am drunk." "But,
dad," the boy said, " there's only ONE policeman!" 'Trichloroisocyanuric

guest's plate. The visitor smiled, put the cheese into his mouth and
then said: "You must have better eyes than your mother, sonny. Where
did you find the cheese?" "In the rat-trap, sir," replied the boy.

See "The New Hardware Wizard may detect the printer device after every
restart of the computer" ;

Re: New Hardware Found
Make sure you go to "Current Control Set". You may see "Control Set" first.

I get the "New hardware found" message even when the printer is not plugged in to the USB Port. I have the XP drivers from Brother, and the Wizard will not accept them. It instantly tells me that it can't find the correct drivers, so I know it is not taking the time to search online.
