I'd bet Apple would have your best source of information on trouble with
their products. I have several machines (Windows XP SP2 and SP3 included)
and have recently upgraded them to the latest version of Quicktime with no
troubles. Perhaps if you gave more details on what it is you are seeing and
such - you might get help here, on an Apple support site/forum/newsgroup
and/or just by using an Internet search engine...

Hi,

I've tried the Apple sites but their support system is down and they are
nonresponsive.

I thought perhaps someone here has had problems with the i nstallation of
iTunes into windows xp.

Hopefully you can steer me to one of the microsoft groups which might be
able to help me.

Thanks and regards

http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

Above is the correct download link for it. And it includes Quicktime.
When you download it, save it to your Desktop.
Then double-click on it to start installing it.
It is about 55MBs in total.
