Virtual memory low
I keep getting a balloon message saying that virtual memory is low.
I have XP pro with 250gig HD and 1G of ram.
How can I correct the problem?
Thanks

The message usually means that the pagefile is too small. Set it to "system
managed size".
Size of the HD only matters if the HD is very small (which 250GB is not).
1GB of ram will not remove the need for a reasonable size pagefile.

Gotta love the vague responses to a very important question.

Just change all the numbers, its not their comp.

"System managed size" is not a vague response. In fact, this setting is
much more likely to result in appropriate pagefile size than such rather
arbitrary settings as a maximum of 1.5 times RAM.

That's right...
just let Windows manage it and forget it.

Never seen simpler advice
