folder deletion

XP Pro SP2 up to date.
I was copying some files from a folder I made for my download manager and
then deleting the original after checking that it had copied. Apparently,
after a couple of files I forgot to rehighlight the file I wanted to delete
in this folder and the folder was highlighted when I used Shift/Delete. I
immediately went to majorgeeks and d/l several undelete programs that are
supposed to work for this type of situation but none of them can find any of
the files. It did find files from years ago (although many are
unrecoverable) and two files I had already deleted from this folder, but not
from the folder deletion. Are these files really totally gone?
