Clock on taskbar shows random time
Hi, the clock on the task bar (in the bottom right corner of the screen)
never shows the right time now. Whenever I switch the computer on, it
displays a random time. For example, I switched it on today at around 4pm and
it showed the time as 4.20am. Even now at 5.40pm it is currently showing
06.10.

To sort this, I synchronise it with the internet (in clock settings, to
"time.windows.com") which sorts it out. But then the same problem reoccurs
the next time I switch it on.

I have Windows XP

The behavior you describe is usually caused by a dead battery on your
motherboard. Take a look at these articles for more info.

Your motherboard battery is dead or dying. Replace it. It's a flat disk,
about the size and shape of a US quarter, held in place by a clip. They are
inexpensive--$4-5 US or so.
