Recovery Console help
I'm having a problem with Recovery Console.

I initially had the system32/config/system is corrupt or missing problem. I
then tried the steps on this link:

http://www.webechodesigns.com/blog/2...figsystem.html

It seemed to work as XP started to boot like it should, now it just hangs on
a black screen. If I tried to enter Recovery Console again it asks for the
Administrator password. It has no SAM folder so there is no password, i.e.
I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. Even booting to another partition
only lets me look at the C:\. Now, it says I have no access to move files
into C:\ from the other partition.

Further review of the posted article seems to indicate that I didn't do
enough of the replacing. I should have replaced the Software, SAM, Security
and Default folders as well.

I need to use the system backup folder and put those files into the current
windows/system32/config folder.

Will booting into any Command prompt get me back to where I need to go or am
I totally screwed. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

RE: Recovery Console help
Edit: WinXP CD is for some reason not able to repair the installation either.
