Kontron CP360: XPe will not restart if \\.\kommisc0 is run

Cannot reboot XPe on Kontron CP360 iff the driver \\.\kommisc0 has
been loaded and started. Problem seems to be related to kommisc0: if I
don't load that driver, everything works as expected. Symptom: XPe
shuts down all processes, but then hangs forever with "windows is
restarting" message.

Anyone have any ideas, please?

CP360 is a Kontron legacy product for which they provide neither an XP Pro
nor XPe driver. What is kommisc0 and where did you get it?
