Program won't install in Windows XP.
I bought a Game for my Niece called PhotoMaxine for Girls. By Polaroid. It
was designed for Windows 95. When I attempted to install it in Windows XP I
got this error message. PhotoMaxine is not compatible with Windows NT. Now
I have software and games on my Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 Laptop
that were designed for Windows 3.1 and 95 that work fine without anyt issues.
Is there a way to fool the installation program into thinking I have windows
95 on my system? Just so I can install it. I feel that if I were able to
get past the istallation issue the software would work.

Thanks

Bogart

Explore the CD and run the setup program in compatibility mode
(right-click on the file and choose properties) Does that help? You
may have to do the same on the game exe after installation...

Re: Program won't install in Windows XP.
Windows 95 software communicates directly with a computers hardware, something that cannot be done in post Win95 operating systems, therefore some games just cannot be played. If it says Windows 95 avoid it.

You can try a Glide Wrapper:
