Quick Launch shortcut opens window in mid-maximized state

If you open a web site (i.e., www.wfsb.com) for example, and you add that
page to the Quick Launch toolbar as a shortcut, and then you click on that
shortcut on the Quick Launch toolbar, the window does not open full screen
(maximized). It always opens in a mid-maximized state even though the button
on the window title bar is the maximize button.

Since the shortcut does not have properties to change how the shortcut runs,
we cannot get the windows to open full screen.
I have checked TechNet and the Web for info on this but cannot locate info
on how to do this. I did, however, find a CNET forum that indicates others
are having this same issue.

Any thoughts?

That's news to ME. Right-click the shortcut, select Properties, look
in the "Run" dialog space.

Unfortunately, this type of shortcut does not have the Run option in the
dialog box and we are wondering why?

Can't help you there. All of my Quick Launch shortcuts have that
option.

Are you SURE that you didn't move the entire file/folder to Quick
Launch, and not just the shortcut?

URL shortcuts don't give that option, but if you create a shortcut to
IE, Firefox or another browser, edit its Properties, in the Target area,
add a space, then the url, this shortcut will open the browser and go to
the address added. You can have this shortcut open maximized in the
Properties.

Unfortunately, when I create a new IE shortcut and view properties, the
Target field is grayed out and not active.

That's because you have to create a shortcut of one of the shortcuts.
The special link that doesn't have an arrow can't be used.

Joe,

I did try what you suggested and that certainly works. I was able to create
the shortcut to IE and add the URL and change the properties for the Target
field.
