XP authenticating after June 30?

So if MS is going to stop selling XP after June 30... will it also stop
requiring authentication calls and such?

Support goes to like 2014, so authentication will continue.

No. Activation will always be required.

The ending of sales of XP has no relationship to either activation or
support.

Mainstream support will continue until April 2009 and extended support until
April 2014. After that date there will be no more security updates for XP.

No, MS will not stop authenticating until the next decade. Probably.

Won't hurt to stock-up while you can, though.

According to a knowledgeable source at MS, activation will be supported
indefinitely. Even if the activation servers are taken offline at some far
future date, MS will provide an alternate means for customers to continue to
activate the software.

Why do you come to that conclusion? Example: Office XP and 2003 still
authenticate even though they are long out of print.
