XP battery icon remains after hibernate/resume on AC
Hi there - I have some battery icon confusion and I was wondering if
anyone has seen this:

Operated my Dell XPS m1710 on battery power then when the battery was
almost empty (battery icon visible in system tray, about 10% left) I
hibernated the system....

Came back later, plugged in the AC cord and resumed from hibernate....
battery icon was still showing. In fact the battery icon only went
away after a restart to be replaced with the AC icon.

Seems a bit odd - is this a known quirk of XP, was a tad confusing!?

cheers :-)

The battery icon does seem to have some odd quirks sometime. On my laptop
on changing from AC to battery, the icon continues to show the AC plug until
the mouse pointer rolls over it. On going back the other way, the icon
stays showing battery until the mouse pointer rolls over it when the icon
disappears completely until restored via the power management dialogue.

hmmm yeah wierd, its not very helpful thats for sure. I am not sure
if a mouse over would have sorted it for me as I think I rebooted so
never tried. Ah well, not just me I guess. Just makes me wonder - if
the fault is with the icon or is the machine actually not realising
its now on AC...
