looking for KB article

I'm really going out on a limb here, but I thought it would be worth a
shot.

A few weeks ago, I applied a registry fix that I found in a MS
knowledgebase article. I somehow managed to lose both the fix and the
article, and I'm having a helluva time finding it again.

Basically, some of our computers were unexpectedly losing access to
some network resources. For instance, they weren't able to access
network shares, printers, or GPOs on our Windows Servers. Restarting
always fixed this problem, and it wouldn't resurface for a day or two.

The article that addressed this issue was not easy to find in the
first place. I came across it in a totally backwards way, when I was
searching for a solution because I could not remotely update the group
policy of these machines. The error had something to do with resources
not being available. It turns out that this condition coexisted with
the previous problem. After appling the registry fix, the users no
longer had problems.

I can't believe I lost this article... I was at home at the time and
wrote it down on a Post-It note which promptly disappeared (Why not
just type it in an email and send it to myself? Good question!).
Anyway, I was hoping that someone out there might remember this and
send me the KB number. You guys have all this stuff memorized, right?

Try a more appropriate group such as windows.update where ALL the KB updates
are dealt with - somebody may know what you are talking about - if you are
certain it was an update.
