Blank screen loading XP
Hi there.
My problem is:
When I start my PC I get the option of selecting what mode of XPPro I want
to start in, Safe mode, Last known configuration, etc. Regardless of what
mode I chose I get the blue screen showing Windows XP is load. The after a
few minutes all I get is a blank screen.
At a loss as to how I get my XP running.
Any help much appreciated.
TIA

Try this first:

Boot from your XP cd and enter the recovery console

issue the command chkdsk /r

Another thing you might want to try:

Boot from the XP cd, don't enter the recovery console. When you get
the option to "Repair" a version of Windows, take that option by
typing an "R". This will basically re-install Windows without you
losing your files and settings (although you might lose a few settings
like your desktop, etc., but much better than a full re-format). Re-
post when you have tried either solution....
