Different mice, install for each?
I have several different mice I use (only 1 at a time) to change my hand
motion (to prevent carpel tunnel). The latest mouse I bought came with a CD
IntelliPoint 6.1 to set the mouse up. It seems to only allow I mouse to be
set up. Does this mean I should re-run it and set up for the new mouse I
will be using each time I use a new mouse (about once a month)?

Or does it keep the old mouse installation and allow you to change it
without reinstalling? Or does it really matter? I have never used
IntelliPoint when I change mice, and the mice have worked as I have changed
them, but the new one is a wireless, so there is probably more to it than USB
connected mice.

The best solution is that the OS would keep each mouse installed/configured,
so you could just choosed, instead of only keeping the current one.

Anyway, just trying to understand how it works and what I should do when I
change mice.

Thanks
Bob

If you aren't using the advanced features, and are just using the mouse to
point and click and select, you usually don't even need to install the
software. XP has all it needs to run a mouse. The wireless system could
potentially require a driver, but not the whole Intellipoint install.
Just plug the wireless receiver in, turn on the mouse, and see what you get.

I take this laptop between various locations and have left mice at each one,
and I don't have to reinstall drivers.
