No. InCD helpfully included a hidden driver on the CD. When you inserted
it into the other PC, the driver loaded and made the disc look like an
ordinary read only CD. As you noted, you cannot write this way.

Not as standard, but many OEM suppliers install a version of Flash along
with all the other crapware when they distribute PCs.
