You should install SP3. In my view one should always keep up with the
latest critical updates and service packs for Windows.

Support for Windows XP Service Pack 2 ends on July 13, 2010

Translation: After July 13, 2010, there will be NO Security updates for
XP SP2. If one keeps an XP SP2 system updated with Security updates then
there's no urgency in applying SP3 other than the end of support in
2010.

Personal opinion: I am going to wait for a few more hot fixes and
information to be put out. SP3 definitely makes sense; it just has an
odd problem or two to be worked out.
SP3 is basically SP2 plus the gazillion hot fixes that went with it.

I have SP3 and it works just fine. I still have Internet access and
everything actualy works better than SP2.
