After hours of trawling the web, across many months -...now and again when
time permits - if you see what I mean,
I still can't find that "just right" PCI USB card.
....the nearest I've come to it is:

....I've found a few with 1 x 4 pin header internal connector.
i.e. I'm trying to find a PCI card, preferably with 1394a on it as well, and
which has "double" USB pin headers on it just like on a motherboard 9+key/10
pin Intel style connector, ..heaven would of course be - also an internal
Intel style 1349a / case front connector of course !
....the above example looks like it has a "key" pin where there shouldn't be
one, on the two USB internal pin-headers - I suppose I could chop those two
off, or remove the "blank" from "female case front USB lead (internal) 9/10
pin connector" ....after checking pin outs of course.
....so if anyone has ever located a "several port USB 2.0 + Firewire PCI card
with standard'ish case front pin headers on it,
and could point me towards it, ...I'd be so happy you wouldn't believe !!
