Can XP be switched from English to Portuguese?
I have an old laptop that I'd like to give to family down in Brazil. Running
XP Home Edition 2002.

Is there any way to switch the display and input language from English to
Portuguese?

I tried the MS web site, but they only seem to provide the answers for Vista
users. Followed the desktop help, but nothing happens.

No, sorry. You'd need to purchase a retail copy of XP Home in Portuguese and
do a clean install. If you go this route, don't forget to get all the
drivers and laptop-specific software that that model laptop first. You'll
need to install them after the operating system is up.

Sorry, no. You would need to buy and install a Portuguese version and
install it cleanly.

If you don't want to buy a copy of XP in Portuguese, check out Ubuntu at
www.ubuntu.com. You can install it in any language you like and it's free.

I have a similar question.
Can I have a bilingual switch between English and trad-Chinese for
free?
I don't like the "No" answer.

I also install MS Visual Studio 2008. For some reason I don't
remember, its user interface has changed to trad-chinese.
I'd like to also have a similar switch. I surf in MSDN and happily
find VS2008 has this switch, but it should be follow the language of
Window XP.

Thank you.
