how to reposition hardware...
As a little project, a little while ago, and with lots of TLC and attention
to detail, I built myself an extra AMD based PC, with all sorts of goodies
in it,
and it Benchmarks out, in HOTcpu Tester Pro Lite at:
X6000+
Total 11413
Metamark to MHz ratio 3.79
....compared to my "old" Intel D935 which only gets:
D935
Total 7438
Metamark to MHz ratio 2.33
Now !
I want my "old" main system box unplugged, and moved about eight feet to the
left, and the AMD one moved about eight feet to the right and all plugged
in, of course. And of course I want all my Windows settings transferred
from old to new system box, and also one of the hard-disks in my "old" box,
transplanted into the AMD box.
Where are the Windows XP external command and switches to do this ? ...and
how long will it take whilst I go off for a coffee and cigarette ? :-)
I recently stripped my little office right out and vacuumed EVERYTHING, and
had a major cable sort-out and tie-up, so that should save me having to use
the /c (cable tidy) switch !!
If someone could jog my memory as to that olde DOS command line, I'd be
grateful - ...I think it was something like:-
\dos\advanced\hardware\relocate /PC1 left:8 /PC2 right:8 /cables:ignore
\dos\advanced\hardware\relocate /teleport PC1:hd1 PC2
....not sure of the syntax and switches there :-)?
TIA
regards, Richard
