Generic host process for WIN 32 services has encountered problem

I've WINXP-home-sp2.

I've installed all motherboard drivers.

When i start my PC after few minutes i get this window with the message -

Generic host process for WIN 32 services has encountered
problem & needs to b closed.

After that the volume on winamp,vlc player wouldnt work.

If i click on the volume control i get this -

Quote:

There r no active mixer devices available.To install mixer devices
goto control panel,click printers & other hardwares, and then click add
hardware.
The programme will now close.

When i restart, again the same problem.

please help
