Hibernate and SP3
Have lost Hibernate icon in "turn off computer" and have read some of the
N.G. advices that it would return by completely installing SP3. After
installing SP3, hibernate icon did not return. Did I do something wrong?
Thanks for any helpful advice.

If you go to Control Panel > Power Options > Hibernate tab, is Enable
Hibernation check box checked on? If it IS checked on, uncheck it,
reboot, and then re-check it and see if hibernation returns. Is you
computer a dual-processor / core system by chance?

Re: Hibernate and SP3
Hi TCW
Thanks for your response.
Have followed your advice but still no joy.
I can view the hybernate icon by hitting shift button in standby.
Can only view three icons at one time..
Standby,
Turnoff,
Restart.
Originally was able to view four icons at one time.
Hybernate,
Standby,
Turnoff,
Restart.
Am looking for the latter.
Any suggestions?
Also, my being a novice, I am unable to answer your question, re, dual
processor/core system.

Re: Hibernate and SP3
After clicking start---turn off---hit shift key and standby becomes
hibernate.
