Update install problems...
I did a repair install fo XP Pro.
The problem is that downloaded updates won't install.
I have selected " to be notified of available updates".
The little yellow sign in the system tray appears however the updates fail
to install for some reason.
This happened once before and I solved the problem by doing a fresh install
of xp. I don't want to do that again.

You can get free help from MS for all update issues regardless of whether
your OS came preinstalled on the computer (OEM) or you bought it retail.

Updates are not installed successfully from Windows Update, from Microsoft
Update, or by using Automatic Updates after you repair a Windows XP
installation:
