Office-files on network drive opens/saves as Read-Only
Hi
After a crash (solved by force reboot) on one of the computers on our
network, the computer has now developed a curious problem.
When saving a new document, or changing and then saving a current document,
from the computer it makes it Read-Only. Though no visible attributes are
present on the file.
All the permissions on the drive are correct, and this only affects files
changed or created with one of the Office applications. But when saving
locally the documents behave as they should. And if the user manually copies
the file from the computer to the network drive: the attributes are normal.
I've scoured the Knowledge Base and found articles describing the problem,
but the solutions proposed didn't make any differance.
The computer is running Windows XP SP2, Office 2003, and all the latest
patches installed.
Any ideas how to solve this problem?
