Drive C: Error message
I'm working in a mixed MS/Novell environment where we have a strict
user policy that prohibits the users from saving to their C drive. In
the last couple of days I have had a large number of users that have
started complaining that when they open an Office application and
choose Open, they are met with an error window that says, "Drive C:
does note exist or is not accessible. Make sure you entered the
correct drive." They will have to click off of this error a number of
times before it will give them the option to change to their network
drive and they can access their files like normal. I have tried
logging out and back in and have had mixed success where the C: drive
will reappear under My Computer and everything will work fine, but it
hasn't been 100% successful. In any case, the C: drive is there and
working since XP which runs from it is working. What is causing the
message that I'm receiving? Thanks.

This sounds more of an MS Office question, but you might have a look at the
file paths as set for some of those users. Perhaps, for example, the
normal.dot template has been pointed to the C: drive. And try posting in
the appropriate Office newsgroup.
