Prompt user for protected folders
I have a folder that allows access to certain users.

Is it possible to have that folder prompt for a user and password when
people try to save files to it?

It would need to prompt them when they are saving from excel or word as
opposed to somebody trying to copy a file into it.

Is this possible?

Thanks,
Jasper

No, not natively. NTFS security is more robust but does not allow for this
sort of access.

Is there any third party software that can do this?

Thanks,

Re: Prompt user for protected folders
Hello Jasper,

No, not with windows. But why should they logon, when they are domain members
abd you grant them access to that folder with NTFS permissions? If they should
not, do remove the permissions or make them read-only.

Best regards
