Mouse Speed
I can't seem to get my mouse to go fast enough. I have the pointer speed set
to maximun in mouse properties. I also tried updating the driver, it says
cannot find better match. It seems the mouse only goes so fast. It's a
Microsft basic optical mouse. Win xp sp2. Any ideas? Thanks.
Paul

I can't imagine anyone having a problem with mouse speed.

What is "so fast"???

What is your screen resolution?

Have you tried a more expensive mouse?

Re: Mouse Speed
Download and install Microsoft Intellipoint software. It provides
for more control than the default mouse applet in Control Panel.

Re: Mouse Speed
Perhaps the video card is to blame.

It will no doubt be something MUCH simpler than that.

Re: Mouse Speed
screen resolution is 1280x1024. I have had more expensive ones and they did
go faster, but I wanted very light weight, and this was the lightest I
found. By the way, I'm using dual monitors if that makes a difference. All
this is to reduce wear & tear on my wrist.

I think you answered your own question.

Re: Mouse Speed
Actually, I already have that installed. Thanks for the link anyway.
Maybe this mouse just isn't capable of greater speeds. At the fastest
setting, it's probably fine for most people, I'm just looking for a little
more speed to reduce hand motion.

Re: Mouse Speed
maybe a software driver that provides "ballistic" settings.

Re: Mouse Speed
If it connects via the PS2 port, then you can increase the sampling rate.
If USB then it may be on a heavily loaded Root Hub and attaching the
USB-to-PS2 converter and plug it to the Green PS/2 socket may help
with movement/performance.
