16 bit software problems

16 bit software problems
When i try to install a 16 bit software on my xp pro based machines (2
different computers) I get an error message that there is insufficient memory
to install.
Any help woudl be appreciated

16-bit apps were not designed to be installed on Windows XP.

Depends on the software, some loaders get confused by the huge amount of
memory available. You need to provide the exact message AND the info
about the program in question before you can get anything beyond a
general suggestion to run in compatibility mode.

The install routine on this old app probably can't understand more
than 2GB of memory being available. Maybe you can extract the files
from the install file or something. Other than that, you'll have to go
to the maker and get a repaired version.

Waiting for the OP to post more, but there is a "MAX MEM" setting in the
BOOT.INI that will get you around that issue for installing.
