Cannot uninstall my RCA cable modem adapter
I no longer have Comcast as my internet provider. In my device manager under
Network adapters I have 2 instances of the RCA USB Cable Modem - Packet
scheduler Miniport with exclaimation marks on them.
I tried to uninstall them but I get the message-"Failed to uninstall the
device- The device may be required to boot up the computer". Comcast is no
help on this problem. They say to contact Microsoft. Microsoft say's " Sorry,
not our program" and want to charge me.
My point to Comcast is that their cable modem and program installed the
device so they can jolly well help me uninstall it, but I'm met with a brick
wall. "We don't do registry stuff. We just help people get on the internet if
they have problems".
I have removed it through the add/remove program but it is still in the
device manager.
This is more of a computer house cleaning maintenance problem as I can
access the internet with my new provider.
Any help?

Re: Cannot uninstall my RCA cable modem adapter
Uninstall anything named Comcast via Add/Remove Programs and reboot.

Re: Cannot uninstall my RCA cable modem adapter
Yeah, I did that first but no luck which then prompted my call to Comcast. I
think this is a registry problem.

Re: Cannot uninstall my RCA cable modem adapter
This may well be one of those times when it'd be best to adhere to the First
Law of Computers: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." <w>
