Display problem - Screen is 13" instead of 17"

Display problem - Screen is 13" instead of 17"
Hi ,
I have both the edges cut off and in black on my screen remaining screen is
ok as per desktop background settings.

It was ok until yesterday , today in the morning wheni switched on the
display is changed.

I have checked my display settings and is as follows.

Screen resolution is 1024 x 768

Please let me know what need to be done to get the full screen.

Try changing it to: 1280 x 1024, if your graphics takes that range

Or, more precisely, examine the documentation for the monitor to determine
what its native resolution is and then set your video to that.

There are controls on the monitor for adjusting that.
