Too Many Programs
XP Pro, svc pk 4

I have had this system so long that when I click on the Programs button,
there are 3 1/2 panes of programs and I can't read the ones in the right
hand side. How can I make the panes smaller or the font smaller?

TIA

Re: Too Many Programs
You are NOT running WinXP SP4! (There is no WinXP SP4 and there won't be
one.)

Windows 2000 SP4 maybe?

I usually make folders in start menu and drag files into them to sort
things by type:
Graphics for things like image editors, viewers etc.
Internet for browser, ftp, network monitors, etc
Sound for my recorder and players etc.
System AV software, firewall, system tools etc.
Junk Things I don't want to remove but may not use and
these are on the chopping block.

I can do it on the screen, but some people find it easier doing it in
windows explorer and opening
C:\Documents and Settings\Alan\Start Menu\Programs and just playing here.
Note that "all users" may also contain some programs.

Yes, its one more click to get to a graphic program but if you have to
have 2 1/2 pages of programs then this is an option.
The other option is: Do you really need all those programs? Are you
keeping program A and B where another program could do both. WinRar
ie does the work of Winzip and winrar now so I've removed winzip.

Re: Too Many Programs
right click on the start
button and explore.

you can then make new folders
and consolidate your shortcuts,
like into new categories.

you can also duplicate the
shortcuts, if they apply to
more than one category.
