wireless multimedia keyboard 1.1 software won't install
Just bought this wireless optical desktop 1000. Intellipoint software
installs just fine. The software for the keyboard starts to install, gets
about 1/5 of way and stops with an error message "Setup cannot continue
because either there is insufficient hard disk space or an unexpected error
has occurred. Please free the necessary disk space, and run Setup again. For
system requirements refer to product packaging" OK so there's 3GB left on a
70GB disk. I downloaded the latest software from the Microsoft site and
tried that with same result. Replaced the hardware - same result. Is this
about space or something else.

Can anyone help, please?

If you have 3gb of free space on a 70gb disk that is in any case two little
for efficient use of win.
A minimum of 15% free space is required for efficient useage

Re: wireless multimedia keyboard 1.1 software won't install
I should add, some processes wont run with less than 15% free space

This is normal i.e. most setups need at least 10 percent free
drive space for extra activities like installing software.
Your fastest solution may be:
1a. DELete material you do not really need, e.g. all files
in c:\temp and c:\windows\temp, Internet history etc.
1b. Obtain an external USB backup drive and move
across at least 10 Gb of data files.
2. Complete your installation process.
3. Move back data files you are really going to use.

If you fill up drive space that fast, you might as well
buy your own external USB drive or instal a second
HDD and develop a convenient routine for (1) removing
junk files and (2) backing up in duplicate the data
and settings files you cannot afford ever to lose (e.g.
instal source files for your software if supplied on the
HDD instead of on CD.)
