5.25" 1394b SATA enclosure?
where can I find a 5.25" SATA drive enclosure with a 1394b output and
a fan?

(extra points for eSATA output, ditto 1394a and USB2 outputs)

I've searched the universe, and I'd found one but it smells really
bad. it's
http://fire-wire-1394-ilink.stores.y...alfi80esc.html
but email and phone call to them hasn't replied to my question if it's
native SATA, or if it's just using an IDE/SATA bridge. (that company
is accused of being scammers:

and
http://www.resellerratings.com/store/CoolDrives

please help, thanks!

This site in Australia looks interesting:

http://www.esis.com.au/Adv3Acc/Exter...sfordrives.htm

FYI, there are 81 listings in Google,

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...=Google+Search

that meet the search criteria of External 5.25" enclosure + Firewire
+ eSATA. You can look them up.

Addonics has a modular approach to the interface end of things.
But I doubt they'd cover all the requirements. Still, I like
the concept, as it could make for a more flexible pile of
bits and pieces.

OWC (macsales.com) is one place you might find 1394B, as they're a
Mac shop. One thing I notice about product lines for Mac users,
is they don't seem to like fans.

On generic enclosures you might see on Newegg, at least fans are still
present (some have them, and some don't). And I happen to like fans
for hard drive enclosures. It is something I insist on, when
buying.

I've also been known to drill extra holes for ventilation,
as some enclosure products have a fan -- but no intake vent :-(
It makes you wonder, what were they smoking when they came up
with that idea.
